

Each character is allegorical: love, lust, passion, anger, wisdom, happiness, and depression. These men will share their unfiltered thoughts about themselves and the issues that surround them. The play stars Esau Pritchett, Dyllón Burnside, Luke James, Tristan ‘Mack’ Wilds, Da’Vinchi, Bryan Terrell Clark, and Forrest McClendon. The play tells the story of seven black men in a gentrifying neighborhood in Brooklyn. Thoughts of a Colored Man is playwright Keenan Scott II’s Broadway debut. The exterior of the theatre was used as the location of the movie version of the film A Chorus Line. It also operated as a movie house in the late 1940s and ’50s before it was purchased by the Shubert Organization, who returned it to full-time theatrical use. In 1937, impresario John Golden acquired the theatre and renamed it for himself. Seventy-six years later it housed another production known for its puppets, the award-winning Avenue Q. Krapp for Irwin Chanin, it opened as the Theatre Masque on Februwith the play Puppets of Passion. Designed in a Moorish style along with the adjacent Royale Theatre by architect Herbert J.
